okay well I never made

okay well I never made it to the vet’s but Jack is much better again. Unfortunately I will be deserting him again for 2 weeks whilst I go off to the states with work.

I decided today that not being able to see has it’s advantages. scally and I went into hammersmith for lunch and whilst my glasses where being looked at by the opticians I wandered around Kings Mall half blind. well actually I have astigmatism so everything was just a little fuzzy! So this immediately meant everybody looked much better looking than usual. The only problem with this of course is that I did not appear more attractive to them :o(
In order to check however that the people I thought looked nice actually were nice I had to ask my ‘seeing eye homosexual’ for help. scally unfortunately [or fortunately depending on the timing] has very different tastes to me – so the moral of this story is get a seeing eye homosexual with similar tastes who won’t make comments like ‘yeah you would do him’

Okay Jack was much better

Okay Jack was much better this morning – he wanted to go out for a walk and was all spritely again [so relieved].
I am flying out to Dulles [just outside Washington DC] on friday afternoon and not returning until 1st April so that will be fun – my mate craig says to pack warm clothes as it is snowing :o( and Ithought the rain back here in London was bad :o(
Just chatting with Meg and Dave-o about their impending move to the new flat – it sounds lovely and spacious and bright. I can’t wait to go visit them and see it 😉

okay so Jack is officially

okay so Jack is officially sick :o(
He visited the vet this morning and had the indignity of a thermometer up his bum! He has been vomiting all night and then had the runs this morning. So after a consultation at the vet he has had a couple of jabs and given some tablets to take for the next few days and has oral rehydration powder for his water to keep him from dehydrating. poor poor jack – he is currently wrapped in my duvet zedding away.
This of course means that I am not in work today – should have been my first day back but jack has put paid to that idea. I did consider taking him in with me but he has been puking alll over the flat this morning too so maybe not the best way for him to meet my work colleagues.

In other news dave-o has scored some chicken over the week-end so we can start calling him the colonel now 😉 and he also posted a rather cute pic of himself. something I have been loathe to do on this site – who wants to see pics of me eh? I mean… so here is one of dave-o instead!

jack is feeling a little

jack is feeling a little better he wanted to go for a walk – which I took as a good sign. He had his second set of tablets for today and some more fluids and then a little boiled fish. something bland the vet said “a little boiled fish or chicken”. I couldn’t bring myself to boil chicken
So I missed Meg‘s birthday soiree because he was not well. Shame cos I wanted to grill Dave-o about his chicken :o)
It’s cold and wet in the UK and I do not like it :o( bring back the need for air conditioning I say!

okay well I am back

okay well I am back in London now after the two 8 hour flights yesterday. Melatonin is a fantastic invention. Woke up sleepy [thanks scally for that call] and took Jack out for a walk – he was very happy to see me. I was very happy to see him. Pets they are fab no expectations and they are always happy to see you!
Well I arrived back to the flat like a sauna Elric had managed to leave the heating on manually full for the past 3 weeks so all my plants are a little dead or brown around the edges. The food that I left him in the Fridge before I left was unfortunately still in the fridge [and growing some new life forms] and anything that had been used up was lying around empty. So no coffee or washing powder then :o(
Luckily Andrew had brought me home with Jack and got an indian takeaway so at least we had something to eat!

I am not sure if I am missing Singapore [the company especially] or Sydney [the place and the atmosphere] more. All I know is it has strengthened my resolve to leave the UK for a while. I am going to be asking for that job in Oz with AOL and see what happens. It would only be an eight hour flight to my brother in Singapore then too. Unfortunately Naz will have moved to NY by then – not to worry I’ll be likely visiting Ny more frequently now that hotel expenses have vanished I do like wandering around manhattan. Not sure if I could live there though it’sa ll a bit too hectic like London. Sydney had a much more relaxed pace. Yes I know I was on holiday but you know what I mean.
Met up with Naz a couple more times before I left Singapore and he met the in laws he joined us for dinner on Thursday night. So all in all it was a very relaxing extra couple of days and I’m so glad I did not try and do all the trip in one day. Yesterday was bad enough. We sat and discussed last night how it was like flying to the states and sitting in the airport for a couple of hours and then flying home again . And it felt like it too. The first trip Singapore to Bahrain was made bearable by meeting a lovely boy Mahmoud from Beirut. He had the most piercing blue eyes and was generally a really nice – but a bit str8.
The trip from Bahrain to London had the little screens and games and films so that was alright. Shame I had managed to buy more in Bahrain Duty Free!

So I had better go and do some washing and buy some food and act generally depressed :o(
