Gaydar relaunches app, but will it unseat Grindr?

So gaydar have finally relaunched their iPhone application. It’s about time too. They used to be the pioneers in dating websites but have let the likes of Grindr and Bender make inroads into the space.

The previous version of the app was abysmal and buggy, wiping peoples website profiles and generally not what you would expect from QSoft. The new revamped version of the app is slick looking in greys and orange, there are still some niggles though which I’d have liked to see fixed, it’s always confused me why usernames aren’t shown on the thumbnails page.

It’s a vast improvement though. The location settings now seem to work which may yet erode into the website paid service as previously this was part of the premium package. Also unlike the new rivals on the block gaydar still has a pay model carried over from the website. No unlimited profile views like grindr and no unlimited messages like bender. Still it’s a step in the right direction and they have a massive user base already to tap into as well as a marketing budget to match the paid subscriber base.

Jaffa Cakes, Yoghurt and veggies

The past couple of days in Hammersmith Muller have been handing out a variety of yoghurts. On Tuesday they handed out the Omega 3 variety. Half way through munching I realised they didn’t have a nice vegetarian friendly green tick or for that matter an ingredients list. I checked their website. Are they suitable for vegetarians? NO! more here due to the refined fish oils. Yum. Tasty.

Yesterday they were giving away the regular Muller Light. Not to be fooled like I was on Tuesday I checked the website before tucking in. Are they suitable for veggies? No. I guess they have ground up hooves and trotters or lips and arseholes or gelatine as the food industry like to call it ;o)

So today Clare brought in Jaffa Cakes. I know these are veggie friendly and also delicious. However a little interwebnet sleuthing and guess what. They aren’t orange after all. The jelly is merely orange coloured – it is in fact made out of Apricot Jelly and only contains Tangerine Oil. Who knew?

24 CTU ringtone

Geeky I know but the ring tone for the phones at CTU is quite unique. mitbiz.de has it posted in Nokia composer format – I just need someone to send it on to my phone now since I don’t have composer 😉

Credit Card Fraud

Is anyone else concerned that credit card companies have simply kept quiet about millions of card numbers being hacked

Sweet as Nectar?

See I always said that I’d prefer one loyalty card for all shops. Unfortunately that defeats the object of a loyalty card! Vodafone meanwhile has jumped on the Nectar band waggon. Which I guess means Orange won’t 😉
