Enjoy the silence

Okay well last week was a bit quiet on all fronts. I have not been well since my trip to Liverpool. I was feeling kind bad on the journey down the M6 but by the time I hit the sack on Sunday I was unable to talk properly. I have not been in work yet this week and have had a fever and sore throat with nasty yellow puss and spots. I took a couple of pictures naturally but they are a little fuzzy and really don’t show you how bad it really was. Scally’s x-rays are a much better depictation of his injuries. So what with not being able to talk and being perpetually tired I felt like a monk ho had taken a vow of silence. No online chatting and no offline talking. Typically I have not been able to get an appointment with my doctor so I am going to just rough it.
Super strength strepsils are the order of the day!

Oh and daytime TV has not got any better since the last time I was off ill. At least then they had Wonder Woman on Sci-Fi. This time the only programme worth watching during the day was grand designs and I only saw one of them [it was the only one I stayed awake through]. A couple had bought a mill up north stripped out the interior and made it all modern inside with a ?6,000 shower. It looked nice though and you know if I had the money and lived up north I might consider something similar.
So all in all a very quiet week for me – which you know is sometimes good. My mum always warned me about burning the candle at both ends. I think I was melting the middle a little too!

i hate being sick

Yesterday I struggled with a sore throat – not very good when your job involves talking all day.
By mid afternoon I was feeling lousy and just wanted to get home to bed.
Unfortunately the train line had been struck by lightning during the freak April showers earlier in the afternoon. So I had to get the tube into town and then the train from Balham. So It took me until 8pm to get home.
Thankfully though after taking Jack out for a quick walk I was snuggled up in bed by 8:30.
Today I ventured out of bed twice – both occasions to walk Jack.
I am now of course wide awake at 1:30 in the morning 🙁 but I’m sure it won’t last and I’ll be back in bed soon.
Just wish I had someone here to nurse me.

Still being awake at this time has meant I could read up on a few goings on in the blog world. Talking of that Mr Pannett has an update from Edinburgh.
I think I forgot to mention earlier that Simon has had a bit of a spring make over and Darryl has too – green seems to be the new black.
Oh and what are google doing with answers?
While we are at it what are abercrombie doing with stereotypes?

I’ve had a few days

I’ve had a few days to think now and chatted with my folks. Went on a nice [but short] trip with Andrew driving up north for the first time in a year really was kind of wierd. It was nice when I got up there though. Met up with Keith who I haven’t seen in ages – unfortunately I was not very talkative – sore throat and tired after the drive.
eventually named Andrews yopungest bearded collie – Shadow – since he never leaves your side. So long as he is following someone [doesn’t mind who] he is fine.
The drive down was nice – except for the rip off Burger King prices in the service station – ?4.99 for a meal you can get for ?3.99 anywhere in London. Motorists sure do have a hard time.
Went for dinner last night [after training] around at scally‘s which was nice. We were supposed to be putting up his new Ikea Wardrobes but decided watching a film would be easier. His newly fitted bathroom is lovely. Shame the lounge is now unrecognisable and you can’t see the nice laminate floor we laid in February.
Mad thunderstorm last night too – was kinda cool and scary all at the same time – only scary cos I was walking Jack in it .
