Ivan Massow – love him or hate him – or have an unbiased discussion about his career. I personally think he has a flair for self promotion – even more than Sno – of out in the UK fame. At least Sno hasn’t put his picture on the login page

new look connie
AOL is launching a new advertising campaign in the UK today with a new look connie – no same person just different dress! I challenge you to notice the differences – I have a couple of Connie stickers for the person who tells me!
I woke up this morning
I woke up this morning thinking I had had a bad dream – unfortunately I knew it was real. Seeing the pictures this morning of the rubble that was once the World Trade Centre I just felt numb.

Friday’s USA Today had an article about geo-caching and I was intrigued to see that although it is sweeping the US with it’s wide open spaces and preponderance of SUV’s but having looked at the site I was suprised to see that there are caches in the UK too. I was wondering if I could start a cache on my roof? That’d be a hard one to get! Having the NeverLost system inthe car though has made me consider going andbuying a handheld GPS I know I have absolutely no need for one yet somehow that doesn’t seem to be the point.

Disturbing Search Request of the day was +shop +jockstrap +uk
I was wondering if I have ever referred to jockstraps on my site. I know I have certainly mentioned shops and the UK but jocks have me stumped so I ran a quick search and you know what? I did mention them on Monday, March 05, 2001 whilst describing Mardi Gras in Sydney.

was having a look at commercialcloset.org yesterday evening and must admit the guinness advert is much funnier than the one we have showing in the UK currently entitled ‘the dream club’ which just leaves me confused.

America Online To Sponsor The ‘Madonna Drowned World Tour 2001’
Madonna Is Coming To Town And The First Place To Get Advance Tickets Is Through AOL – well if you live in the US that is shame they never did this in the UK it would have made my ticket quest much easier!
ooh I have been spending
ooh I have been spending time reading recently – well a lot more than usual now I am settling back into being in the UK. wandered over to davo‘s musings at brainsluice and came accross the article about study finds you don’t make a difference at work. Dave @ work has been saying that to me for months he claims I do nothing anyways.
now I don’t always read scall-o-blog [come on I work with and socialise with and holiday with and…beans] but I must say that even though he came back from a no doubt extended lunch break to tell me about the guy in the TV shop we had seen on wednesday I was shocked by how sordid it all sounded in print [well on screen then if you want to be picky]. Talk about chicken tonight 😉
kind of disturbed by the number of people that are now searching for that damn john west salmon bear fight advert. This is a total catch 22 thing I’m sure – I did blog it once and now I seem to come up in every search for it I should just mirror the adcritic site.
oh and I just thought I’d mention that I think this is possibly the longest list of blog sites in the world.
well I ended up trying
well I ended up trying to get in the middle of 3 guys last night at badlands again. Call me predictable but I figured I at least knew the club was okay. I considered Omega [the sister club] but decided to go for the one I knew.
This is after going for a lovely Vietnamese meal with sheena in ‘Miss Saigon’ in Georgetown. We then wandered for awhile shopping and chatting until the shops closed around 10. On the way back to the hotel I was debating whether to go out or not and as sheena quite rightly put it – ‘it’s your last night in DC and I am crashing so go out’ – so I did
Nice night, nice company, lovely back.
getting ready to check out as the hotel [along with most of the area obviously] has moved ahead one hour for daylight savings time. We have made plans to go get brunch in georgetown – look out starbucks! those mad english/irish people are coming back for more. Then it is off to the airport – well after some more shopping at abercrombie and abercrombie & fitch of course and then finally on my way back to the UK [for a couple of days anyhow]. I’m hoping the nice people at virgin will upgrade me…
